Hindmarsh has successfully delivered another high-quality education project for the NSW Department of Education, with the Cecil Hills High School upgrade now complete.
The project has transformed the campus with a new multi-storey classroom building, upgraded canteen, modern multipurpose hall and enhanced outdoor recreational spaces. These improvements are already being enjoyed by students and teachers, providing contemporary, flexible environments that support modern learning and wellbeing.
Designed with the Cecil Hills High School community at its core, the upgrade focuses on creating future-ready spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity and connection. The result is a campus that not only meets current educational needs, but is built to support generations of students into the future.
Safety and Pedestrian Infrastructure
As part of the works, Guard-R Group supplied Type 1 Street-Guard® Transport for NSW (RMS) Pedestrian Fencing to Metal Fencing Specialist, who installed the fencing for Hindmarsh on the project.
The pedestrian fencing plays a critical role in managing movement and improving safety across the school grounds, helping to clearly define pedestrian pathways and protect students, staff and visitors within the campus environment.
A Collaborative Outcome
The successful delivery of the Cecil Hills High School upgrade reflects strong collaboration between the NSW Department of Education, Hindmarsh, specialist contractors and suppliers — all working towards a shared goal of creating safe, functional and inspiring learning spaces.
Why Type 1 Street-Guard® Is Specified for School Environments
Type 1 Street-Guard® TfNSW (RMS) Pedestrian Fencing is commonly specified in school environments due to its proven performance in high-pedestrian, safety-critical settings. Designed in accordance with Transport for NSW (formerly RMS) requirements, the system provides controlled pedestrian guidance while maintaining clear sightlines — a key consideration around schools where supervision and visibility are essential. Its robust galvanised steel construction delivers long-term durability and impact resistance, making it suitable for areas exposed to heavy foot traffic, student movement peaks, and maintenance equipment. The fencing assists in separating pedestrian and vehicle interfaces, discouraging unsafe crossing behaviour and supporting safer circulation within and around school campuses.
